new jobs.

exciting, but a pain in the ass.

back in '97 when i first started out, i was told i would spend the first year learning the architecture and the network. i scoffed. six months later, i was humbled. six more months later, i was comfortable.

same situation, different company, and around about 39,850 less employees. again, i'm told, it'll be 6 months before i really get into things.

proceedures, policies, source locations, software, etc - the drudgery that will become second nature, all have to be relearned.

and then there's the whole 'learning C' thing which is coming along nicely, but i got a long way to go.

i hope the next 12 months go by rather quick.
